Tango (It Takes Two to Tango) is a stunningly beautiful well built  gelding dun. We picked him because of his appearance even though we could tell he was going to be a challenge. He has turned out to be our greatest technique enhancer. We first worked him the usual way, not getting very far as he only let us touch the middle part of his nose and nothing else. Because he was quick to kick, strike or bite when we attempted to approach other body parts, we used pole gentling (a technique where we touched him with a soft whip or pole, NOT tying him to a pole...). He was pretty content with that and we managed to get to both sides and were eventually able to halter him. It still didn't fell right. Mr. Tango just did not enjoy the sessions and progress was not smooth. Then we completely changed to operand conditioning / positive reinforcement. It took a little to get him to eat food out of a tub and then the hands but he took to this training style like a fish to water. His whole body has softened, he will even nicker at us when he sees as approaching with the training gear. This is a slow approach but it makes for a happy horse. Tango is still here and teaches us to become the best clicker trainers on the planet.

We feel that he would be best suited for his own person as he gets really attached to a human he trusts. I also think he would prefer a female owner (or a sensible gentleman). We picked him up at Florence where he was about ready to be shipped out as non-adoptable to early retirement (he has his 4 numbers shown prominently on his hip). We took a chance with him and after some initial struggle switched over entirely to food reward based training. He quickly dropped his defensive demeanor and became a gentle and willing study. He is 11 years old from Sulfur Springs and has a gorgeous body making us think there is some Spanish Mustang heritage in him! He will likely revert to defense if pushed when he doesn't understand. But if you show him some love he will give it back to you! He could be an excellent endurance prospect. We are expecting his papers any day now at which time we can sell him to you with no BLM requirements on your end. Homes that understand his gentle nature only, please!

Arizona was transferred to us for training because she did not make much progress at her first place. We immediately fell in love with that beautiful heart on her face! She is one smart lady that pays very close attention to you and likes to participate. She does have opinions but is very willing to follow along. She is making fast progress and we had her under saddle for a few weeks now. She has never offered to buck or fight. She is a very athletic 4 year old Cedar Mountain girl that would do great in eventing such as jumping or dressage. She is now in the mid 14 hands and will likely be 15-ish. She does need somebody that is knowledgeable with horses. She will outsmart a novice in no time! We could keep her here until we get her adoption papers (around March) or she could be transferred now at which time the one year waiting period would start over again and the new owner would need to qualify for a mustang. We would like to get $800 for her (negotiable to a good home).TEEEEEEEEXTTTTT

Earl passed his TIP training slow but with flying colors. He found a new owner but is back with us due to the tragic and sudden death (heart problems) of his adopter. Now Earl is looking for a new forever home. He can be adopted for the usual $25 reassignment fee. We are taking care of him in the meantime while the family deals with the tragic loss. Earl is 14-3 ish hands and a real beauty. He is curious, affectionate and playful. He snorts when is feels insecure. The main trick with him is to go slow and at his pace. When given time to think a little he will go with you through anything. He is a 4 year old from Bible Springs.
